Rabbit Model for Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO)

  • Product No.DSI788Rb01
  • Organism SpeciesOryctolagus cuniculus (Rabbit) Same name, Different species.
  • Prototype SpeciesHuman
  • SourceInduced by YAG laser
  • Model Animal StrainsRabbits, body weight: 2~2.5kg
  • Modeling GroupingRandomly divided into six group: Control group, Model group, Positive drug group and Test drug group
  • Modeling Period4 weeks
  • Modeling MethodThe animal model of CRVO in rabbits was set up by Injection of sodium hyaluronate (1ml/kg) into the ear vein, Immediately after irradiated the central retinal vein at the edge of the optic disc by using Nd:YAG laser (wavelength 532nm, power 750mW, spot diameter 100um, exposure time 0.1s). Irradiation should be from the distal to the proximal end (to avoid too much pressure to make blood vessels rupture) , Irradiation distance of about 1PD, to observe the obvious thinning of the blood vessels and to stop the irradiation of the distal vein.
